The day arrived so quickly. It was hard to believe we first met in June and since then engagement photos have been taken and we have become, well, friends. We were all glad the weather cleared up as it had rained the night before. I couldn't possibly thank Monica and Stan enough for trusting me to capture their special day. It was hard to decide which photographs to post. But here they are. Please click on the thumbnail to enjoy the picture in full.

To say we had fun is an understatement. The weather was perfect for a Brown's Island engagement photoshoot. Monica and I had spoken and after looking at my website she wanted to take her pictures here. She warned me ahead of time that I would have a hard time getting her fiancé to smile. So, when she received her pictures, she was totally surprised and asked how I managed to make him smile. I simple replied "I just had him to look at you."
Location: Brown's Island, Richmond, VA Beautiful couple, beautiful day, beautiful scenery - The Story: One evening this lovely couple, originally from New York, was shown photographs I captured for a family member's anniversary photoshoot. The rest is history! Once we narrowed down a date, they traveled from New York, to have their engagement session with me. They also received a mini tour of Richmond Virginia and Mechanicsville, VA because we drove to the best spots for them! We had a blast!
Locations: Byrd Park and Maymont Park (outside entrance only) Richmond, VA Gaines Mill Park and Historic Pole Green Church - Mechanicsville, VA Such a wonderful day for a beautiful family! Here we have the White's. I usually get asked all the time, how do I deal with kids during photo sessions. My answer: I let kids be kids. And bringing a treat or two (with a parent's permission) doesn't hurt either. This time it was cupcakes! Since this was an "at-home" photo session I showed up in mask and gloves and remained distant throughout the shoot. When it came time for the cupcakes. I opened the package and let them grab one without them having to touch the packaging. The girls even wanted their teddy bears to be apart of the pictures. Um...of course! Teddy bears are family also! Simply perfect pictures!
Location: Midlothian, Virginia Here we are in this pandemic and social distancing era and we are cherishing moments more than ever before. My clients wanted something special to celebrate their 10 year anniversary. And let me tell y'all, they came to slay and took no prisoners! It was a gorgeous day with perfect lighting and it was important for me to make them feel like they had the park all to themselves. Then Questin and Alexis turned on the magic! WE had a great time!
Location: Brown's Island - Richmond, Virgina Every so often something special just kind of happens. The client, place and photographer create a "moment" where everything just comes together. To say that I loved this photo session is an understatement. She had visions of a field and I'm so happy I was able to find one for her!
Location: Mechanicsville, Virginia Everything was perfect for a couple that is truly perfect for each other. While I prefer to meet my bride in person, at times circumstances prevent this. Her fiancé contacted me requested me to photograph their wedding so I only ended up talking to the bride to be over the phone and via a messaging app. From there I tried to get as much information as I could. I cannot thank her enough for the amount of trust she placed in me as her photographer and cheerleader for the day! Congratulations to this beautiful couple!
A beautiful couple is really all that is needed. So much can be said about this couple, about their new love, and commitment to each other. However, I'll just let you in on a little something I noticed about them. Two different personalities that complimented each other so well, they created something new within themselves - something fresh and vibrant - I personally find that amazing to watch. As a photographer, I have the pleasure of entering a person's deepest feelings for someone else from behind the camera. You could call it love but I think it's more than that. I love shooting at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. It was so cold outside this day but looking at these pictures, you would never know it. I had a great time working with this beautiful couple. Knowing what the weather would be like that day, I got there ahead of time to scout out all of the places directly in the sun so we all wouldn't freeze to death. We took a few shots here and there before going inside to get a couple of shots. The couple wanted just a few pictures to celebrate their first year wedding anniversary. At the end, they both exclaimed, "We didn't know this was going to be a REAL photoshoot". Made me smile way too hard. Please click on each photo for full picture. Location: Richmond, Virginia
