Well this bridal session was to die for! We had so much fun. My bride was absolutely gorgeous. She really brought a simple elegance very reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour. A truly beautiful person shined from the inside. I'm so fortunate to be able to capture so much more than just a look but the very essence of a person. Who knows the true story behind her eyes. My guess is, she really might be royalty from another land and I had the privilege of being in her presence.

I do not even think I can express the beauty of this couple in words but I'll try. The love between them made this session ooze an energy. Watching them express deep thoughts in gazes and subtle movements made me kind of emotional. A special connection is made when a couple reminds you of, well, yourself and your own love. Who knows what stories lie in the past before they met or what stories will yet be told in their future life together. One thing is sure though, past, present and future is summed up in these photographs of a truly beautiful couple. Location: University of Richmond, Richmond, VA
It was cold. It was windy. It was perfect! 2 weeks ago a gentlemen told my hubby that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend and for some reason the photographer he had chosen couldn't do the pictures. So my husband mentioned my name. Thanks babe! After talking with Corey, we finalized the location and timing. I chuckle because he was so nervous. The night before he wanted to make SURE I remembered everything down to the angle with the two poles in the river in the background. After reassuring him that I got this, I specifically told him that the only thing he needs to worry about was proposing and whatever happens do not drop the ring! Picture it, Brown's Island in downtown Richmond, VA. The best thing out of it all is she said yes! And everything went as planned. The second best thing? I got the shot! Congrats to Sameika! And to Corey - Job well done Sir! Job well done.
So sorry for the delay in uploading these reception pics. Got to get used to blogging. I have to say it is a learned craft. But enough about that. Party on! Every reception is unique in its on way. I'm mean sure you have the entrance, eating and dancing, and OH, cake too but each couple brings something special. How can a couple's love be laid back and on fire at the same time? Well they mastered it! And they had a fog machine! Really doesn't get any better than that...
The day turned out to be beautiful! The wedding was equally beautiful. And the couple... simply elegant. It started out as a rainy, misty morning. Then came the sun. Finally, a pleasant overcast over the rest of the evening. Stay tuned for party pictures! For now here are a few from the day. Hope you enjoy. - Location: Midlothian, VA
Well at least that is what my BFF, Jenn, calls her new body form. I was asked to take some pictures for her online boutique that she is putting the finishing touches on. Jenn lets me know her vision, which is an outside location and a wall. So I sit and think for a bit and LIGHTBULB! I knew just the place. Midlothian Mines in Midlothian, VA. Last year I took engagment pictures there and remembered they had a cool stone wall. Then Jenn says the dress she wants pictures of has sequins all over. The time of day was everything for "Roxi's" photo shoot and online debut. The setting sun made the sequins glisten. And not to mention was a great highlight for her fur coat and aqua blue clutch...
Picture it.... March 21, 2015. The day was beautiful for pictures. Brown's Island and the Riverwalk in Richmond VA became an instant backdrop for this lovely couple's engagement photos. They were so fun to work with! Loved every minute. Being an on-location photographer I pretty much have to work with what the light gives and go where the sun takes me. We also went to the University of Richmond which is a wonderful place for pictures. However, chasing the sun over there didn't work too well. It was setting with each passing moment. So does that mean when the sun goes down we stop? Not at all! The show carries on. This couple was so patient and flexible. I remember while walking they felt so bad that I was carrying their change of clothes but it was really no issue for me. I wanted too. It was my duty to make sure that these "models" were camera ready at all times. And that they were. Even when they didn't even know I was taking pictures.
Say hello to my niece! I couldn't be any more proud of the young lady she is becoming. She graduated high school last year and wanted a party. So I couldn't pass up the opportunity to photograph her in her ball gown. She's so cute! Location: Maymont Park and Byrd Park, Richmond, VA.
Even a little chill in the air couldn't cool this couple down. It was early last year these photos were taken. We were searching for a flower somewhere, anywhere. But this couple didn't need a flower. The love between them accentuated all of their pictures. BUT when we did find a flower we took advantage of it! Had so much fun working with these two! They have since married and I'm just glad I could be apart of it in some way. Location: Midlothian Mines, Midlothian, VA and Maymont Park, Richmond, VA
